New Challenges for Satellite Communications
Speaker Hugo GONZALEZ PEREZ (CNES)
Hugo GONZALEZ PEREZ obtained his Master of Engineering degree at Telecom Barcelona (UPC) in 2000. He also holds a Master on “Satellite-based communication, navigation and surveillance) from the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC) in Toulouse. In 2002, he joined the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) in Toulouse. As a member of telecommunication system department, he has been in charge of several R+D studies and involved different projects dealing with satellite communications. Mr. Gonzalez was in charge of communication ground segment definition for AGORA project (first CNES broadband initiative) in 2004. He contributed as system engineer to the second generation initiative covering satellite solutions for digital divide. Mr. Gonzalez has also been involved in aeronautical communications by satellite. In October 2012, he joined the directorate of strategy, programmes and international relations. He is the programme officer for broadband and mobiles initiatives at CNES.
